MDS Students Bring Smiles to Kids at Teddy Bear Hospital Event

Our students showcased their dedication to community engagement and healthcare promotion at the annual Kids Day Out Children’s Good Friday Appeal, Teddy Hospital event. The event, part of a longstanding student-led initiative, saw over 100 MDS volunteers collaborating with peers from Medicine and Health Sciences courses at the University of Melbourne.

Led by student coordinators Jonathan Liu and Sarah Chan, the team organised a range of engaging activities aimed at providing children with positive healthcare experiences while fostering fun and interactive learning.

Reflecting on the event, lecturer Ms. Julie Owen commended the students for their exceptional professionalism and dedication to improving communication skills with young patients. The success of the initiative underscores MDS's commitment to community engagement and wellbeing.
