Launch of the John Moody Scholars Program

We are pleased to announce the development of the John Moody Scholars (JMS) Programme, a new initiative supporting the growing partnership between the Melbourne Dental School (MDS) and Christian Medical College Vellore (CMC Vellore).

Named in honour of MDS alumnus Dr John Moody AM, founder of the Dental Department at CMC Vellore, the programme aims to foster collaborative research, training, and leadership development between the two institutions.

On Monday 25 August 2025, Dr Vikram Mathews, Director of CMC Vellore, visited the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS), where alongside A/Prof Rita Hardiman, Interim Head of School, the JMS Programme agreement was officially signed. This landmark partnership is set to serve as a foundation for deeper collaboration, including joint publications, external grant applications, and the strengthening of international academic networks.
