Excellence in Action: Spotlight on the Orthodontics Team

Our Orthodontics team proudly represented Melbourne Dental School at major events this year.

At the American Association of Orthodontists Annual Session in Philadelphia, Dr Brandon Lim won the Dr. William R. Proffit Resident Scholar Award for Clinical Research. Dr Denice Loo was named the 2025 winner of the prestigious Athanasios E. Athanasiou Master’s Thesis Award at the World Federation of Orthodontists President’s Breakfast - the fourth time in three years this award has come to our Orthodontics team! Congratulations to our students and supervisors, Professors Paul Schneider and Paolo Cattaneo.

At the ASOFRE 2025 Foundation Meeting in Hobart, Dr Brandon Chow received the Student Poster Award, and Dr Denice Loo was awarded the AB Orthodontics Fellowship. Special congratulations to Professor Paolo Cattaneo, recipient of the esteemed P. Raymond Begg Research Award, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field and his role in elevating the global profile of our Orthodontics group and the School.
