Mentoring for your Final Year of Study

Are you interested in understanding more about what life will be like once you graduate? Would you like advice about further study, career pathways, job applications, interviews, networking and more?

A Mentor Can Help

The MDHS Mentoring Program will connect you with a graduate who has professional experience relevant to your area of study and is willing to give up their time to support you as you transition into the next stage of your professional life. Our mentoring program will offer you the opportunity to gain real insights into working life, discuss career aspirations, and receive advice and support to prepare for your future.

All mentors are alumni of the University of Melbourne and we already have hundreds who have registered to be part of this exciting new program.

What's involved?

  • The program is a one-to-one mentoring experience which runs for eight months from March to November 2020
  • Mentors and students should meet at least five times throughout the year (in person or online)
  • Participants will be encouraged to attend mentoring events and networking opportunities throughout the year
  • Participants will receive monthly emails and video tutorials to support them through the program

Application Process

Students are required to submit an online application form via the program website.

Applications will be assessed according to the quality of the application, and the availability of mentors.

Successful applicants will be matched according to study area or degree, as well as interests, professional experience and preferences for meeting arrangements, as indicated in your application form. Best efforts will be made to fulfill preferences but not all preferences can be guaranteed.

Participation numbers may be limited due to the number of mentors that are available and unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a mentor for every student who applies. Click here for more information.

Am I eligible?
