MDS students accredited in Mental Health First Aid

A group of MDS students recently completed the learning modules, training sessions and online testing required to become Mental Health First Aiders.

Training sessions were conducted by Dr Roisin McGrath over Zoom and covered steps taken when offering assistance to those experiencing mental hardships in a variety of a contexts.

More broadly, the MHFA course equips individuals with the skills to be an “initial point of contact” for someone experiencing a mental health crisis or a mental illness. Over 800,000 people across Australia have now been trained to support those experiencing issues in schools, workplaces and wider communities.

Congratulations to the MDS students who have become accredited First Aiders.
